Why looking for a Celebrant is easier than looking for a second hand car.

Looking for a Celebrant and a searching for a second hand car, surprisingly have a lot in common.

You need to check the Celebrant’s mileage (how experienced is my Celebrant?)

Check the Celebrants service history (have they regularly attended Ongoing Professional Development?)

Check the Celebrants paint job (who knows what a Celebrant is even supposed to wear? I’m sure you don’t want it to be a glow in the dark moo-moo!)

And finally, kick the tyres (google them, read their reviews, see if you can stalk them on YouTube performing an actual ceremony!)

You may possibly be asking yourself, what do celebrants actually do?-

Are Celebrants scary?

Are Celebrants nice?

Will Celebrants give me pre-marriage counselling?

Will a Celebrant make me say things during the ceremony I don’t want to say?

Will they look good in my photos?

Will they make me sound like a dick?

Will they think we shouldn’t get married?

Don’t worry! Marriage Celebrants are someone you will most likely only hire once in your life, so its totalloy okay to ask them questions loads of questions!

We are kind of a anomaly.  Some people think Marriage Celebrants are religious.  Some people wonder if there are young Celebrants or are they all old and crusty? What motivates a Celebrant? Are Celebrants celibate?

Let me tell you, we love LOVE! We are PEOPLE people. We love public speaking and performing. We love story tellers.  Celebrants are by definition storytellers.  I love to share my experience of what I have seen/heard/taken part in over my 2500 or so weddings, but mostly I listen! Because every single wedding I do is completely different! Everyone brings different emotions to their wedding day, have a different groups of guests in different moods and at different venues with different interpretations of what a wedding day should look to them.

So my job, like and FBI investigator on a stake out, is to listen, learn, and find out what makes you tick, are you shy about saying your vows? Are you worried your Uncle is going to cause a scene? Are you worried about having an awkward pash?? All valid concerns.

So let’s have a chat. You talk and I will listen, and I’ll ask you questions, but I won’t make you uncomfortable. I will help you understand all of your options and help you write off the things you don’t want/need and include the elements that matter to you - because when it comes to a wedding ceremony there are surprisingly few have too’s!

I might be a bit high on milage, but I have an excellent service history (I am a Celebrant Trainer), I have a great paint job (because I will ask you what I can wear to suit your day, and most of all, anyone is welcome to kick my tyres (I have some video’s here and would love to meet for an obligation free chat).
