Whats been happening with you? Have you been learning how to bake sourdough? Have you knitted a dog hair jumper? Perfected the art of watching an entire Netflix series without pausing?
I could have been doing all these things, but to be honest, I just wanted to throw my Celebrancy head into work. Even through the Dandenong Ranges in Victoria, where I live, hasn’t been too badly affected by the C-bomb, I still have had to postpone all my weddings for the meantime and even had some cancellations during lockdown 2.0 and this has broken my heart. It has been such a tough time for everyone hoping to get married, hoping to attend a wedding, or anyone hoping to help couples getting married.
The good news is that my beautiful engaged couples that have had to change plans, have coped so well. They have been patient and kind, and checking with me before locking in new wedding dates and I am just so, so, grateful. Don’t get me wrong there have been tears and long phone calls but overall the vibe has been one of hope and optimism.
We really do have a lot of hopeful couples here in Melbourne because the enquires continue to roll in from couples that are looking for a Celebrant with hope the future wedding dates are a go- fingers crossed that things return to a relative normal and we can all celebrate together in the way we are accustomed too.
If not, I do have a little side hustle I have been working on.
